But it's too bad you did not see some the beauty that goes hand in hand with the "dirty" aspects of Nome. I tend to see the cup half full and actually find most major cities dirtier than Nome. There are some really good people here and the beauty, well each person sees that differently I suppose. True, Front Street isn't the most beautiful place. However, the land surrounding Nome offers a variety of landscapes and opportunities for recreation. My first visit to Nome, I felt the same as you. But then, upon choosing this community as a place to call home, I've realized that there is a healthy, thriving community set in a beautiful landscape for those who choose to look for it.
